Our motors operate on 12 volts DC, which is safe for both kids and adults, and can be used as replacement motors for motorized blinds, shades, and flagpoles in any RV motorhomes, travel trailers, etc. We also supply some motors that include a radio control if you want to upgrade to a remote control system.
The replacement RV shade motors do not have a remote, and you must connect them to a DPDT switch or some other home automation system with a 12V supply, such as the Qubino Z-Wave DC Shutter Module, which works great with SmartThings. The motor will need up to 1/2 Amp under load.
It is important to take accurate measurements of your tube before ordering a replacement. Rollerhouse has many replacement options, and as long as you are accurate on your measurements, you'll get exactly the correct RV Motorhome Replacement Motors for Blinds & Shades.
The manual switched (no remote) shades require the switch to be held until the shade either reaches its limit or the desired intermediate position. The shade can be stopped at any point by simply releasing the switch.
The motors come with all the necessary accessories for installation on an already installed blind. They can be programmed with a button on the same motor to set the upper and lower limits of the blind. Rollerhouse can help you get the right attachments and brackets for your needs.
The motor was very easy to program for the top and bottom settings and is plenty strong to lift the 8' shade. If you're not sure what size you should purchase, Rollerhouse can help you find the best solution.
RV window blinds come in various types, such as RV Pleated Shades, Motorized Roller Shades, Motorized Top-down or Bottom-up Cellular Shades, Custom Blackout Shades, and Bamboo Blinds.
To remove a shade assembly from a motorhome, you first have to remove the shade assembly from the windshield area of the Motorhome. The wiring is run down the driver's A pillar, so that needs to be removed as well.
These rollers have pre-programmed up and down limits, and the default "down" limit is set somewhere around 12". It is very simple to program them for the correct down limit for your shades.
The motors operate on 12-volts DC, and a simple DPDT switch controls their direction. You could use the switches already in the control panel in your motor home to operate them.
The third wire in the original 3-wire setup tells the motor that the ignition key is on, so you can't lower it all the way. This is not a problem as long as you don't accidentally put the shade all the way down while driving.
The 12 volt DC, no radio motors are often used for RV blind and shade replacement or retrofit. They are suitable for use with manual switches or home automation controllers and are easy to use, with two electrical wires: positive and negative.
