The hardware can be used for both inside and outside mounting. Mounting shades inside the frame lets you show the window's trim, but there will be a 0.4-inch light gap on each side of the shade to allow the fabric to move smoothly. Mounting shades on the outside of the frame helps eliminate that light gap.

To choose the correct size for your windows, consider the following example: If your window measures 23 inches in width by 72 inches in length, for an inside mount, the blind width should be 23 inches, and the blind height should be 72 inches. For an outside mount, add at least 4 inches to both the width and height, resulting in a blind width of 27 inches and a blind height of 76 inches. Please note that the fabric width will be 0.8 inches shorter than the size of the shade.
